Several members of Massload Technologies attended a Lean Manufacturing Tools & Techniques Seminar that Al Norman presented through the sponsorship of the Saskatchewan Advanced Technology Association.
I had some interest in Lean Manufacturing practices and after attending the seminar, I asked Al to visit our plant for a review. I knew there is great potential for savings but was unsure how to make the changes and have them stick. Lean Manufacturing seemed to be the best way.
Al was flexible with the training schedule so that the key staff I needed trained would not be off the floor for an extended period of time.
Several areas for saving were quickly identified and steps were taken to implement the saving immediately. We have generated a 20% savings in processing time and there is still plenty of projects to complete.
